Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapeutic interventions as necessary.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans based on their evolving needs and responses to treatment.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health conditions and effective coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in case reviews and team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment outcomes.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing and mental health care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing or mental health care.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Current RN and NP licensure in Washington, D.C.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Empathy and a non-judgmental attitude towards diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications such as Board Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP-BC).
